VIENNA (February 2, 2007). – Three years after its successful launch, the >ITnT<, the international trade fair for information technology and telecommunications (ITT), continues on its expansion path. 389 exhibitors presented themselves and the fair took place for the first time in two halls (halls A and B) of Vienna’s trade fair centre MessezentrumWienNeu. This year did not only 30 per cent more exhibitors participate but also clearly more visitors attend the fair than in 2006: 16,874 trade visitors walked through the turnstiles – this corresponds to an increase of 8 per cent when compared to last year’s number of visitors (15,617).
Matthias Limbeck, CEO in charge of CEE and New Business at Reed Exhibitions Messe Wien, is pleased to state: “Growth development of the >ITnT< runs contrary to the general tendency of international IT trade fairs. It is particularly pleasing to notice that this year already 12 per cent of our visitors came from abroad to attend the fair”. The biggest group of international visitors according to nationality came from Germany, followed by visitors from Hungry, the Czech Republic, Overseas and the rest of Europe. “The top visitor quality and the high frequency have again confirmed the appropriateness of the concept to design the event as a pure b2b trade fair with a focus on the CEE and SEE countries. The interest in the next >ITnT< in 2008 is already huge. The success of this year’s event which has just ended doubtlessly will especially encourage numerous medium sized enterprises and international players, which have been hesitant until now, to participate in 2008.
The >ITnT< is the industry’s leading trade fair
According to the results of opinion polls, the visitors found the subject matters IT security (32.2 per cent), network solutions (31 per cent), hardware (29.5 per cent) and telecommunications (27.2 per cent) to be the most interesting fields.
Matthias Limbeck summarises the success of this year’s fair: “The <ITnT< has again shown to be the leading and trend-setting trade fair and significant initiator for the ITT industry – not only in Austria but also in the Central Eastern and South-Eastern European countries. That is why we begin the preparations for next year’s >ITnT< with great ambitions and newly formulated target growth rates”. Next year’s >ITnT< is scheduled to take place from February 5 to 7. (+++)
